GERMAN CURRENTS: NEW FILMS FROM GERMANY
In Association with the American Cinematheque and German Film Service & Marketing with the support of BMW and ELMA (European Languages and Movies in America).
Having won two Oscars for Best Foreign Langage Film and having been nominated four times during the last four years shows that German films are back with a force.
German Cinema is playing well on international festival circuits and markets again. This year's Academy Award® Winner THE LIVES OF OTHERS took in $70 million worldwide, including $16 million in the US and $17 million in Germany.

We are delighted that GERMAN CURRENTS, the new annual showcase of recent German films has moved to the Aero thanks to a collaborative effort of the American Cinematheque and the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles.

GERMAN CURRENTS' premiere is hosted by Oscar-winner Florian Henckel von Donnersmark.
This year's line-up presents one documentary film and six features, inlcuding a children's matinee with a guest appearance and book signing by bestselling author Cornelia Funke.
