It is often easier said than done to make the move across the Atlantic. We introduce five dancers who have done it. Their stories and impressions are meant to encourage others and convey what the work routine looks like in the other country.
Antje Pfundtner was trained at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in the Moderne Theaterdans Department. Since 1999, she has been a freelance dancer and choreographer. Berit Jentzsch, an independent dancer and trainer, lives in Dresden, where she studied stage dance at the Palucca School of Dance. Since 2006, she has been collaborating on a regular basis with the Compagnie Isabelle van Grimde/Corps Secrets in Montreal. Isabelle Schad studied classical dance in Stuttgart from 1981 to 1990. From 1990 to 1996, she danced in various classical companies. Subsequently she has worked as an independent choreographer.
