This elaborately ornamented Romanesque Revival building was designed by German-American architect Julius Germuiller, who was born here in the neighborhood. Constructed in 1891 to house an Irish-American business, Grogan’s Furniture Store, the building has now been restored and is fully occupied. Faded signs for Grogan’s are still visible on the north and south walls of the building. VEGA, a furniture store, has now opened on the ground floor, continuing in a tradition that goes back to the building's first tenants.
