Video: „Morphosen“

Jo Fabian is an author, director, choreographer, stage designer, video and lighting designer and programmer. His synaesthetic art works combine dance, language, text, lighting, the use of space and video. What was originally the project group example dept. developed into Jo Fabian’s Department, a mixed group of performing and visual artists. A number of productions and guest performances followed and were shown across Germany, as well as in Salzburg, Paris, Budapest, Porto, Brussels and Hong Kong.

In 1999, Jo Fabian began developing a dance language system that faithfully translates text into movement by using the alphabet. He has created several works by means of this “Alphasystem”, some with an interactive structure that places the viewer in the role of choreographer. The Alphasystem can meanwhile not only be applied to dance, but also to music, video and lighting design.
