Cultural Management

The objective of the Culture and Development initiative is to provide long-term support to the arts scenes in the Goethe-Institut’s host countries. Six regions now offer advanced vocational training programmes in cultural management to professionals in the cultural sector.
Some of these cultural management programmes are already entering their third years. All of them follow a basic pattern: a theoretical phase, practical phase with internships in Germany, personal coaching, and finally the realization of follow-up projects based on ideas that arise during the course. Each training module is specifically designed for the regions depending on the group of participants and their professional and cultural backgrounds.

The purpose of the programmes is to internationally network the cultural professionals, the exchange with German cultural and educational institutions, as well as the long-term establishment and anchoring of training options in project and cultural management in the host countries.
