Joseph Vogl

Joseph Vogl is a literary scholar and philosopher. He is chair of the Institute for Modern German Literature /Literature and Cultural Sciences /Media at Humboldt University, Berlin, and Permanent Visiting Professor of German at Princeton University. His bestseller, “The Specter of Capital,” Stanford University Press, 2014 (“Das Gespenst des Kapitals,” Diaphanes, 2010) was one of the most influential reflections on the economic and financial crisis and “profoundly undermined belief in the lack of alternatives to capitalist economics” (Frankfurter Rundschau). His most recent work is “Der Souveränitätseffekt“.
