MIRKO WINKEL
Mirko Winkel studied visual arts under Marina Abramovic and Christoph Schlingensief and solo/dance/authorship at the Universität der Künste Berlin. His research-based, primarily collaborative works are performances, videos, lectures and texts, room concepts, ideas and suggestions for improvement. He is co-founder of the Freie Klasse Braunschweig and the agency Mysafir (Ninth Istanbul Biennial) and was part of a one-day theatrical experiment on the complete works of Heiner Müller in Vienna in 2006. In 2014, together with Martin Schick, he developed a casting show for the Konzert Theater Berne, in which the biggest Swiss problems competed against one another. At Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW), in 2015 he was responsible for a large-scale experiment with 60 children who tried out social cohesion and living forms of the future. He has been teaching at the Institute of Performing Arts and Education at the Braunschweig University of Art for four years.
