Oliver Roth is a freelance artist and dramaturge based in Zürich. He received a Bachelor’s degree in general history and German, then an MA in recent world history and German studies at the University of Berne and in Valencia. On the side, Roth works as a journalist and freelance copywriter and has published literary articles for, among others, KulturStattBern, the arts blog of the “confederation.” In 2015 he co-conceptualized and curated the festival centre for the contemporary theatre conference AUAWIRLEBEN and won second prize for his play CTRL-V from Cosima Grand at the PREMIO Switzerland. Together with the performer and artist Martin Schick and others he designed transferable formats such as the FRED Talks, which are shown in Berne, Lausanne and Zürich under the label General Performances. In 2016 Hort Lits Berne invited him to present the performance BARTER 6, he showed the durational performance SIBLINGS at Gessnerallee and created an exhibition with articles at the Coop for transform in Berne. In the summer of 2016 he will produce a ten-year obsequy performance WHILE YOU WERE DEAD at the Far Festival in Nyon.
