The Goethe-Nationalmuseum is the leading museum for the presentation and study of the life and legacy of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. It consists of Goethe’s historic residence and garden on the Frauenplan square, where visitors can see his art and science collections as well as his private library. Two museum extensions built in the twentieth century contain exhibition and study rooms as well as the “Festsaal” (Ceremonial Hall).
