Cultural Management in Middle East North Africa

In September 2011, the Goethe-Institut organized a four-to eight-week advanced cultural management training for employees of cultural institutions in the Arab world.

In 2011 the advanced training programme was moving into its second round. 11 cultural managers from 10 Sub-Saharan African countries observed the work of German cultural institutions. This time the focus was on French-speaking Africa.

The pilot project is an advanced training course offered by the Goethe-Institut in the countries of Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Tadzhikistan and Azerbaijan. more

South Asia: Advanced Training Cultural Management

Cultural managers from India and Bangladesh will be taking part in internships at cultural institutions in Germany from autumn 2011 until spring 2012 as part of the fellowship programme ARThinkSouthAsia (ATSA). ATSA was launched in early 2010 by the South Asian Network of Goethe-Instituts.

Eighteen young culture managers from China came to Berlin in September and October 2010 to take part in an advanced training programme organized by the Goethe-Institut, the Institute for Arts and Media Management of Freie Universität Berlin and Stiftung Mercator.

In order to strengthen the network of cultural societies, the Goethe-Institut Mexico invited nine executives from cultural societies to Berlin for a four-week advanced training course in cultural management in July 2010.

Frankfurt: Publisher Advanced Training 2009-2011

The three-year pilot project by the Goethe-Institut in the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia is aimed at publishers, senior management, editors and staff in publishing.

The Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata and the University of Music Würzburg were responding to the desire for creative exchange and the establishment of professional networks with a further training programme for music educators from India.

From 27 June until 22 July twelve piano tuners from Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Goa and New Delhi had the opportunity to improve their expertise at the Oscar Walcker School in Ludwigsburg.

Capella Amadeus goes Brass

In March 2011, the Goethe-Institut Jakarta and Capella Amadeus initiated an advanced training course for gifted Indonesian musicians on instruments such as the trumpet and oboe.

The Goethe-Institut Kabul has been holding four-week puppet theatre workshops every year since 2007. This stimulus resulted in the 2009 founding of Parwaz, the first puppet theatre ensemble in Afghanistan.
