"The predominant idea that springs to mind when I think of the association walls/borders is of the exclusion of one side from the other which is supposed to be protected. The duality caused where the so-called enemies/others usually turn into victims who commonly suffer a violation of their rights as citizens and as human beings. Whenever there is a wall limiting a border there are two faces confronted which share the misery in one way or another, phisically or spiritually, because they both have the same origin and root."

The winning design by Timur Akhmetov will be printed on a brick and will be included in the Berlin Domino Action on November 9, 2009.
