To mark the centenary of the beginning of the First World War in 1914, the Goethe-Institut organizes numerous projects and events around the globe to reflect on the events and cultural movements that defined and shaped the era.

The Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan in association with the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Embassy of the France, Alliance Française de Bombay, Institut Français in India will present a series of programmes from 18th to 22nd August to commemorate the First World War.

One such event will be the exhibition Indian Soldiers in Europe during World War I. The exhibition looks at the involvement and life of Indians in WWI primarily through photographs.

Prof. Aravind Ganachari will give a small presentation during the opening to contextualize the involvement of Indian soldiers in World War I.

Opening: 18th August, 6.30 pm, Galerie Max Mueller, Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan
Gallery timings: 11 am to 7 pm

The exhibition will remain on view till 22nd August.
