Experience diversity through languages.

Through various initiatives, the Goethe Institut - as Germany's institute for language and culture - provides a stimulus both in Europe and beyond to promote languages and culture and strengthen the exchange between people of different nationalities. For many years now, the Goethe Institut has been playing a particularly key role in encouraging the study of German as a foreign language. Against the background of the declining number of foreign language learners within Europe, the Goethe Institut has also been making an increasing effort, also in collaboration with the European Union National Institutes for Culture in Brussels (EUNIC), to promote multilingualism in Europe.
One of its initiatives is the "mehrsprachICH" project, for which the Goethe Institut and its partner Poliglotti4.eu have attracted three famous people from Germany to promote Europe's linguistic diversity as "ambassadors for multilingualism".
The aim of the videos and the competition is to encourage people of all ages to learn languages and publicise the positive impact that knowledge of different languages can have on your own development and on your co-existence with others. Speaking other languages opens doors and broadens your horizons. Learning languages and experiencing other cultures is both exciting and inspiring! Are you interested in multilingualism and would like to find out about the initiatives underway in Europe?
On the Poliglotti4.eu website you will find all kinds of information and publications on language policy and language research. This website also provides links to multilingual blogs, databases and events, etc. Other videos from ambassadors for multilingualism are also available in the Poliglotti4.eu video gallery.
