Summer Academy On Multilingualism (Egypt)

The Summer Academy 2008 of the Goethe-Institut Egypt was dominated by the subject of multilingualism.

How can language teaching with more than one foreign language be organised? What does the experience to date show? And where is German in the discussion on multilingualism?

20 participants from Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Germany drew up answers to this and other questions. Alongside contributions from theory and practice, a two-day future workshop formed the heart of the seminar. With the help of prominent speakers, who reported from their practical experience and scientific expertise on the subject of multilingualism, the participants in the Summer Academy developed new approaches and solutions to help them meet the requirements of a globalised world in their teaching of foreign languages.
