Terms and Conditions

1. General Requirements

Our courses are designed for adults at least 18 years of age. Younger learners can be admitted after prior consulatation.

2. Terms of Payment/Refund

2.1. The course fee is payable upon enrolment. We accept payment by cash or credit card.
2.2. If full payment is not received by the due date, the participant looses the right to participate. The Goethe-Institut (herafter referred to as GI) reserves the right to ask for the payment of the course fees in full.
2.3. If the course participant is unable to attend the course, the following stipulations shall be valid:
a) In case of cancellation up to one day prior to the start of the course the paid course fees are refunded in full. After the beginning of the course no refunds can be issued.
b) Cancellations must be submitted in writing.
c) If the GI cancels a course the full course fees paid by the course participant will be reimbursed.

3. Course fees

3.1. The contractually binding fee is the fee stated in the current price list.
3.2. Unless stated otherwise, books must be purchased separately, and the costs of the books are not included in the course fees.

4. Change of Course

Should the participant want to change to another course offered at the same class period, no charge will be levied for the first change. For each additional change the equivalent of 10 % of the course fee will be charged.

5. Course level assignment / class size

5.1. Placement in course levels is based on the placement test conducted prior to enrolment.
5.2. Our courses have at least 6 and at most 18 participants. If enrolments are insufficient on the starting date, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone the course. In this case we will offer the participants the opportunity to move to another course or to receive a full refund of the course fee paid. We regret that we can only conduct courses that have the minimum number of participants by the end of the enrolment period. To avoid cancellations of courses that would have taken place if participants had enrolled on time, we advise students in their own interests to register within the enrolment period.

6. Responsibilities of participants

Participants are obliged to comply with the course and house rules applicable to the GI.

7. Liability of the Goethe-Institut

The liability of the Goethe-Institut and its staff is limited to intent and gross negligence. The Goethe-Institut also accepts no liability for the cancellation of its services due to force majeur (e.g. natural disasters, fire, floods, war, official orders and all other circumstances beyond the control of the contractual parties).
