The Goethe-Institut Kabul works closely together with the Ministry of Higher Education, the Centre for Foreign School Managment (ZfA), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and various other language course cooperation partners.
The Goethe-Institut Kabul offers German courses and further training to German teachers. Moreover, being the only Goethe-Institut in Afghanistan, it is constructing a network of language course cooperations in the provinces outside Kabul.

Language Courses

Since the reopening in 2003 the demand for German courses was very high and keeps on increasing steadily. There are several schools where classes are taught in German (for example the Amani-Highschool for boys and the Aisha-e-Durani School for girls) and the University of Herat.

The Goethe-Institut Kabul offers German courses of all levels.

Educational Cooperation for German

German studies are available to students of Kabul University since March 2002. The present German students are going to be future German teachers of the country.
Many of them are already enrolled in language courses at the Goethe-Institut Kabul, if not already teching one of our courses.
These new German teachers undergo an Observation programme and the opportunity to participate in fuether methodic and didactic training as well as training to enhance their knowledge of German.
Most of them are also enlisted in our stipend programme.

Cooperations are already in place with the university of Herat, the media centres in Kunduz and jalalabad and the reform and development council in khost, where German courses are being offered. The Goethe-Institut Kabul provides basic materials and further training for the various German teachers.
