Our translation programme supports the publication of books written by German authors into another language. The translation programme of the Goethe-Institut works to enable a non-German speaking reader access to important scientific publications, challenging literary works and children and youth literature. The progamme serves to fulfil culture-political aims and is an important instrument in foreign culture and education politics.
Translation Programme: More information on entry conditions and application procedureThirteen German children books have been translated from German to the two Afghan languages Dari and Pashtu. These books are used in a project to develop reading skills and have been distributed throughout Afghanistan.
