Der German Cultural Day ist wieder da! Das letztjährige Festival war ein überwältigender Erfolg: Trotz des regnerischen Wetters kamen 3.500 Besucher. Deshalb haben wir beschlossen, ihn zu wiederholen und alle einzuladen, einen Tag lang die deutsche Kultur in ihrer ganzen Vielfalt zu feiern: eine lebendige Mischung aus Essen und Trinken, Musik und Tanz, Sprache und Informationen, sowie etliche Aktivitäten für Kinder.
Am Samstag, den 4. Mai 2024 sehen wir uns an unserem denkmalgeschützten Gebäude in Sydney. Das symbolträchtige Stück der Berliner Mauer im Park bildet die perfekte Kulisse für eine lebendige Ansammlung von Live-Bands und Künstlern, Marktständen und Verkäufern, Food Trucks und mobilen Bars, Kinderaktivitäten und vor allem: jeder Menge Spaß!

This year’s program will feature Berlin techno act Andi A, German Film Festival special guest Andreas Dresen, Brisbane’s cowbell quartet Alpenrosen, Berlin violin virtuoso Daniel Weltlinger, the German International School’s GISS Choir, traditional Schuhplattlerl hit St Raphael’s Dancers, singer-songwriter Dominik Lack, our Kids’ Singing Group, wild Trivia Sessions with Kathrin, the roving-and-rolling Polka Kings duo, German trial lessons with Natalie, gipsy-jazz band Lolo Lovina, combi cult brand Volkswagen, Elsa’s wine-tasing extravaganza, a free photo booth for digital and printed pics, eco-friendly face-painting, a breathtaking fire performance, our German-language Kinderparadies, gummy-bear originals Haribo, a book and craft corner by Woollahra Council Library, our German Cultural Day branded T-shirt merch table, as well as a broad range of food and drinks stalls, and, last but not least… our very own Beste Bier Bar offering a variety of German beers on tap... Surely, there's something in there for you?
