Franz Kafka

Franz Kafka Collage, © 8/2003 by OPPI Franz Kafka (1883–1924), son of a middle-class Jewish family from Bohemia, spent most of his life in Prague. He is one of the most influential writers of the 20th century. Much of his work was published posthumously. In a dense and precise prose he describes individuals burdened with guilt, anxiety and isolation caught in bureaucratic labyrinths. (list compiled May 2008)
