1982 after military service moves to Berlin, releases first LP with the band "Zatopek"
1984 joins the band "Neue Liebe"
1985  co-founder of the band "Element of Crime" where he sings, plays the trumpet and writes the lyrics
2001 publishes his first novel "Herr Lehmann" (Berlin Blues) which becomes an instant bestseller
2003 

novel "Herr Lehmann" (Berlin Blues) is made into film 

2004 

German Film Award for best screenplay (Berlin Blues) 

2008
