With her husband severely injured and her home in Syria within the grasp of militias, Mina - a young Kurdish woman - flees from Syria to Berlin. Despite living as an illegal immigrant, Mina manages to find work but is traced by the Syrian Security Service, who brutally threatens her and forces her to work as an informant. After Spring Comes Fall is an intense and captivating film, highlighting the individual story whilst encapsulating the burning contemporary issue of refugees.

Director Daniel Carsenty’s strong interest in the Middle East has been a central theme in many of his productions. www.filmuniversitaet.de

"A brave, sincere, political and carefully researched story about the dark side of Berlin on the refugee issue: AFTER SPRING COMES FALL. Without public funding, Ulrike Dorothea Schirmer has managed to create this outstanding graduation film." Jury of the achtung berlin – new berlin film award
