Frank Molesch, convicted of murder, takes advantage of an opportunity to flee. He hides out in a forest. But the isolation and the knowledge he’s being hunted by police change him, and fear starts to get to him. The police use everything they’ve got to try to find him - but it’s a detective on sick leave who gets closest to the truth.

Christoph Hochhäusler was born in Munich in 1972. After studying architecture in Berlin he enrolled at the University of Television and Film in Munich, where he studied film directing. His first feature-length film is This very moment (2003) followed by Falscher Bekenner (2005). He also co-founded the film magazine Revolver in 1998 and published several articles on film.

Somewhere in the Thuringian Forest – a mythical region full of legends and superstition – a sex offender roams. Police psychologist Johanna is dispatched to Thuringia. She stays with her friend Vera and Vera’s husband Bruno, who have lived in this region for some time now. Old stories and old feelings surface. The two women come to realize that, ten years ago in Munich, they were both in love with the same man at the same time, without ever encountering each other.

Dominik Graf was born in 1952 in Munich where he also studied at the University of Television and Film. Since then he worked as an actor, screenwriter and mainly as a director. He is especially famous for direction action movies such as the thriller The Cat (1988) and Die Sieger (1994). He is also known for The Red Cockatoo (2006). Graf´s work won the German Adolf Grimme Award several times.

Dreileben – Etwas Besseres als den Tod

A big hospital on the outskirts of a small city in the middle of the Thuringian Forest. Here Johannes carries out his alternative national service. The head physician, a family friend, has recruited him. Johannes gets to know Ana. During the night of their first embrace, a sex offender escapes from the hospital. His flight and the police’s hectic search accompany the story of Johannes and Ana – a love story transcending boundaries, without a future.

Christian Petzold was born in 1960 in Hilden. He moved to Berlin where he first studied German and drama before enrolling at the German Academy of Film and Television (dffb) in Berlin. The often awarded film The State I am in (2000) was his first big breakthrough and once for all established his important role in contemporary German cinema. Other successful films followed such as Gespenster (2005), Yella (2007) and Barbara (2012).
