Director: Vivian Naefe, colour, 108 mins Based on a book by Cornelia Funke (of “Inkspot” series fame), this is a great film for pre-teens. The “Wild Chicks” are a disparate group of four girls who have banded together to form a gang. They are in conflict with a rival boys’ gang, the “Pygmies”, until they are forced to call on their help to save Grandma Slaettberg’s hens. Will the girls and boys be able to pull together and rescue the girls’ mascots?
