Informations about the student exchange program
Le Ministère de l’Éducation de Québec has been organizing an exchange program for young university students with an adequate knowledge of German to be language assistants for either French or English in a German high school for one year.
For secondary school students in their third or fourth year an exchange with students in the Bundesländer (provinces) Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia offers a unique opportunity to discover Germany. Quebec students spend the fall abroad whereas their German partners come here in January to experience a typical Quebec winter!
Between Christmas and the beginning of the winter term Quebec Cégep students can participate in a four-week exchange program to Berlin. Those students who have already taken a number of German courses are given preference but beginners can also apply. Once in Berlin, students stay with a German family and go to school with their “brother” or “sister;” a cultural program as well as German language courses at the Goethe-Institut Berlin round out their stay. A number of internet sites provide information and advice about this exchange. Just type in échange cégeps Berlin in your search engine or contact Eva Ledwig in the Language Department of the Goethe-Institut Montreal for more detailed information.
