Goethe-Institut Presents Free Screenings of Contemporary European Films
Place: Toronto
Event: Presented by the Goethe-Institut, German director Jan Schütte presents award-winning films of the German-French film academy Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris in Toronto.

Takva (Ozer Kiziltan, 2006) screens on the 13th; its a film about an extremely devoted religious man who has spent his life in seclusion, and who suddenly gets thrown out into the modern, urban landscape of treachery and deceit. On the 14th, the feature screened will be L’Intouchable (Benoît Jacquot, 2006), the story of a young woman looking for her ancestral past in India, and performing as an actress to work up the cash to undertake her journey.
The Atelier’s director, Jan Schütte, will be present for a Q&A following the screening on the 13th, and some of the artists and producers involved in the filmmaking are also expected to attend on both evenings. In addition, there will be screenings of short films accompanying the features (…)
