    Family Story

    Taipei, Taiwan

This is a work about my friend Yuan Zhi-jie, who talks about his childhood story: his father left him to form another family, his grandfather was not intimate with his grandchildren, and decided to commit suicide… He contacted his younger sister who he does not really know via Facebook, and asked her to take photos of the family photographs and upload them through the Internet, piecing together the memories. For Yuan, his sister is only a “digital person” that exists solely on the Internet. She is virtual, systemic, but his childhood memories are realistic and sensible.
