You will learn German with authentic texts and in communicative situations. In the classroom you will usually work with a modern textbook and additional up-to-date materials or teaching aids suitable for practice purposes, such as cassettes and video tapes.
The methods applied in the classroom are tailored to the goals and key topics of the lessons. During a day of instruction, students spend time working alone, in pairs or in groups. The teacher may explain a difficult grammatical structure, for instance, or you may give a talk on a topic of your own choosing. You will also work with your learning group to gather information at the course location and discuss the results in class.
You will receive regular homework assignments to gain a deeper understanding of the course material and ensure that you keep up with the pace. Your teacher will give you individual advice on exam preparation or how to use the Mediothek for individual study.
