Göttingen is a city of students, and it is thanks to them that it has its young and easygoing atmosphere and exciting cultural scene. Nowhere is this more evident than in the wealth of cafés, pubs, jazz clubs and cinemas that shape the character of the city center, along with the many parks and green spaces. An excellent network of pathways makes Göttingen an ideal cycling city. In addition, the city forest and the nearby Harz mountains offer almost unlimited year-round options to those who love sports and the outdoors.
