The Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom has been developed by the Goethe-Institut in cooperation with the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. The examination components are drawn up by experts with teaching and examination experience and edited at our head office in Munich.Assessment
The Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom is conducted uniformly all over the world. The written examination papers are marked centrally in Munich by examiners from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the Goethe-Institut. These examiners work independently of one another but apply uniform criteria. Students’ performance in the oral exam is assessed by two examiners at the examination centre in question.Recognition
Goethe-Institut certificates are well known throughout the world and are accepted as a qualification by employers and further education institutions in many countries.The Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom enables foreign students to be admitted to German universities, qualifying them for courses there in the social sciences and German.
