Arrival

By plane to Munich:

Most of our young guests arrive unaccompanied by plane. On the arrival day we offer a bus transfer service from Munich Airport to Stein for students arriving between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. This may involve a wait with our Goethe-Institut staff member who meets all participants at the Meeting Point in the international arrivals area. The staff member is easy to spot, with a yellow T-shirt and a Goethe-Institut sign. Please inform us in writing of your arrival time and your flight number no later than three weeks before the start of your course. For the bus transfer from the airport to Stein and back, there is a one-off fee of € 90. Please have this amount ready on arrival. On your departure date, the Goethe Institute staff will accompany you until you check in at the airport.

If you book a flight that arrives after 6 p.m., the taxi fare from the airport to the school will be approximately € 180.

By train:

Take a train on the Munich-Salzburg route to Traunstein, and change to a train bound for Trostberg/Garching a.d. Alz. Get off at Stein a.d. Traun (approximately 2 hours). Take a taxi from the station to Schloss Stein.

By car:

From Munich, take the B304 via Wasserburg towards Traunreut. Stein a.d. Traun is just a few kilometres before Traunreut. Or: Take the A8 Munich-Salzburg autobahn and take the Traunstein/Siegsdorf exit towards Traunstein. In Traunstein take the B304 towards Traunreut. Stein a.d. Traun is just north of Traunreut. Follow the signs for Schloss Stein.

Should students be unable to arrive or depart on the specified dates, please plan to arrive the following day or to depart one day before the end of the course, respectively. Our staff cannot guarantee transfer, or supervision on days outside the course dates. Also, we cannot provide food in the boarding school outside course dates
