Stein an der Traun

This small town on the Traun River (pop. 4,000) is situated between Munich and Salzburg in the foothills of the Bavarian alps, just north of Chiemsee, a large lake. The nearest larger town is Traunreut, about 4 kilometres away. The surrounding area features numerous fortresses, castles and lakes.
