Petko Dourmana was born in 1970 and is a media artist based in Sofia and London. He works with a variety of contemporary art forms involving technology and new media. His current artistic interest focuses on exploring human perceptions and abilities for communication through the advantages (and disadvantages) of new technologies. Most of his works, research, and experiments are based on the visual representation of history and visions for the future. His artistic projects have been shown in art spaces like the ZKM | Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, the Chelsea Art Museum and Location One in New York, but also in public spaces in Sofia, Berlin, Manchester, and New York. He is co-founder and chairman of the InterSpace Association in Sofia.
