Escoitar.org field work and workshop
The Spanish artist group Escoitar.org was in Tallinn from 23rd January to 3rd February to give a workshop to students and prepare their noTours project for the exhibition – field recordings and first aural research was made based on the area of Kadriorg park.
The workshop lasted for five days, containing both practical and theoretical sessions about sounscape, discovering local acoustics, different recording techniques and finally creating a personal soundmap based on Escoitar’s open source software.
On 2nd February, Escoitar was invited by Carlo Cubero to give a lecture at Tallinn University at the department of Social and Cultural Anthropology in connection with the seminar „Soundscpaes: perception and design”.
