Travelling through North America, we meet the gurus of the former counter-culture in California, modern researchers at the intellectual seminaries at Harvard, MIT and Yale and find the remains of the forest hut in which the “UNA bomber” Ted Kaczynski lived for several years in a wood in Montana. He is the real central character of this film. Computer experts who began to set up the Internet in the 1970s talk about him, as does a software expert at Yale, without any pity whatsoever, for the opinions of a murderer are of no interest to him. Kaczynski killed three people and injured 23 others in bomb attacks before finally being captured. The film's director reveals excerpts from letters written to him by Kaczynski while in prison and in which he claims that technology is a threat to mankind.
