General Requirements

Our courses are designed for adult learners. Young people under 16 can be admitted after prior consultation.

Terms of Payment

1. The course fee is payable on enrolment. We accept cash, cheques, credit and debit cards.
2. If full payment is not received by the due date, the participant loses the right to participate.

Course fees

1. The contractually binding fee is the fee stated in the price list current at the time of application.
2. Unless stated otherwise books must be purchased separately.

Cancellation and refunds

1. The following conditions apply if the course participant is unable to take part in the course:
   In case of cancellation up to three working days prior to the start of the course the course fee is refunded less an administrative fee of £25.
   In case of cancellation or withdrawal after the course starts, no refunds can be issued.
2. Cancellations must be submitted in writing.
3. If the Goethe-Institut cancels a course the full course fee will be reimbursed.

Change of Course

An administrative fee of £5 will be charged to transfer a student to a different class from the one originally booked.

Course level assignment / class size

1. Placement in course levels is based on the placement test conducted prior to enrolment.
2. Our courses have at least 6 and at most 18 participants. If enrolments are insufficient on the starting date, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone the course. In this we will offer the participants the opportunity to move to another course or to receive a full refund of the course fee. To avoid cancellations of courses, we advise students in their own interests to register as early as possible.

Liability of the Goethe-Institut

The liability of the Goethe-Institut and its staff is limited to intent and gross negligence. The Goethe-Institut also accepts no liability for the cancellation of its services due to force majeur (e.g. natural disasters, fire, floods, war, official orders and all other circumstances beyond the control of the contractual parties).
