Why Whiskey Why? Acoustic |
| |
Why Whiskey Why? sound like the evil twins from The Shining with a sad guitar and a little like CocoRosie, but less serious and ethereal and more like they're from below the Watford gap and destined to become embedded in your brain, or at least in a few playlists.

Little B Acoustic |
| |
Of Irish/African origin, this talented singer goes by the name of Little B, aka Breda Acquah. Little B’s career in music started off during her time at college. Her musical style was influenced early on by bands like The Movie Life, Greenday, Rancid, Blink182, No Doubt and Offspring. She has recently embraced a folky-rockabilly vibe but still draws upon a love for punk rock, which inspires a twisted, up-for-it sound. ‘Party Tricks’ is definitely the fans’ favourite, closely followed by ‘Sweethearts’, a more foot-stomping little number. Catchy tunes and deep lyrics.

Thom Stone Acoustic |
| |
A steady crowd had gathered for Thom Stone, a boy from England. Looking like he’d just fallen out of some trendy Soho bar, you wouldn’t have expected much more than a few slurred words and for him to collapse gracelessly. Thankfully, it was just a pretence. Opening with ‘Southbound Train’, this young man became 20 years older in an instant. Belying his tender age, he delivered a powerful set of folk songs with an obvious American influence, illustrated by an emotive rendition of Johnny Cash’s ‘I Still Miss Someone’.

Eyes Down, Mornington Lockett Jazz |
| |
Most musicians aspire to perform on enormous stages in grand concert halls filled with thousands of faces. However members of the RCMJD’s Jazz Ensemble, Eyes Down, coached by their inspirational tutor Mornington Lockett, prefer the buzz and intimacy of venues such as the 606 Club where, as part of the London Jazz Festival 2007, they supported The New Couriers. The Eyes Down line up is: Luke Marzec-Smith (alto saxophone), James Davison (trumpet), Dave Mackay (piano), Marcus Wake (bass) & Moses Sonson (drums) and repertoire ranges from traditional jazz standards to contemporary Latin and beyond!
