Mafia Lights |
There are high expectations for this band. Their perfectly executed, intelligent, indie rock & roll with its pounding bass, spiky guitar and contradictory soft, captivating, charismatic vocals never disappoints. These are people who care a great deal about their music. Mafia Lights is a name to watch out for in the not too distant future.

Fresh from the depths of South London and drenched in day-glo culture, this is one of the youngest and coolest drum machine bands around. It might be new to you but it's definitely second nature to these guys, who will bring havoc to the dance floor with their blissful, upbeat tunes.
| 6.00pm | Eliza Doolittle |
It’s hard to contain your enthusiasm for someone like Eliza Doolittle. I won’t bother begging, wheedling and pleading with you to listen to breathtaking tracks like ‘Bang Back’ or ‘So High’. Eliza Doolittle has already mastered the art of melody, knows a killer chorus when she sees one and is armed with over 40 songs boasting funny, strange and perceptive wordplay. The 19-year-old from Camden has been writing since she was 11, her pop gems the reward of the intervening years of practice. Eliza Doolittle is funny, smart and ambitious; London's new fair lady is ready to unleash her arsenal of perfectly formed pop onto the world.

MIA. stepped into the limelight with their debut album ‘Hieb & Stichfest’ in 2002, boisterously mixing German lyrics, punk and electro-music. The Berlin band with their charismatic singer Mieze Katz took the German music scene by surprise, triggered another New German Wave in pop music and blazed a trail for young German bands performing in their mother tongue. Always controversial, but nevertheless respected for their reckless attitude and their live performances, MIA. have proved that they are more than a loud one-hit wonder. Hear MIA.’s mesmerising electropunk-inflected pop beats live on the outdoor stage at the Goethe-Institut. MIA. rocks!
