From the Adriatic Sea to the BosphorusSome of the most striking contributions to our call for photographs
In May we asked you to help to illustrate the internet project "Daring to Remember". The outcome: an interesting mixture of pictures from the Balkans and its neighboring countries.

Marina Jozic from Jajce in Bosnia and Herzegovina wanted to express how beautiful her country is: "If something is said about our country, they only show destroyed buildings, although we have so much more to see."
For Oana Buglea from Timisoara in Romania memories mean "the smell of childhood in a small village in Banat".
Peter Busse from Ratingen in Germany send a picture with two grave stones in Pristina "where reconcilation is especially hard to reach". And Anna-Kathrin Lübben from Berlin wanted to show "the very colourful power of the Balkans" in her picture.
The most striking photographs you can watch in our photo gallery.
And you are still encouraged to take part in our call for photographs!
