The Patrons and Friends support the public mission of the Goethe-Institut Dublin in one of the most dynamic economic zones of the EU, namely to promote awareness of contemporary Germany in a new Europe, and to develop a network for a cultural Europe with its Irish cultural partners. It is a mission which is just as important as the economic and political union.
The Patrons and Friends have set themselves the following aims:
- the facilitation of cultural highlights, most notably musical highlights
- the promotion of young Irish, German and international artists through commissions for The Return gallery in the Goethe-Institut Dublin
- the improvement of the Goethe-Institut Dublin's marketing and promotion of Germany as a contemporary location for culture, study and business
The Patrons and Friends of the Goethe-Institut Dublin is a joint initiative of the German Embassy in Ireland and the Goethe-Institut Dublin.
