Scholarships for students

Every year we offer scholarships to the two best students of our advanced level to attend a further course in a Goethe-Institut in Germany. This is also a great opportunity to get an insight into the German way of life and the German culture.
Personal Experience

Shreya
Shreya attended C 1 at the Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan after which she went to Germany.
January 2009 proved to be an extraordinary learning experience; I received a scholarship to do a language course in Munich, Germany. The duration of the course was three weeks, and in these twenty one days, I had the rare opportunity to spend some time in a different culture and to get to know people from a mind-boggling variety of backgrounds. Their focus, motivation, thirst for knowledge and infectious enthusiasm made every class highly enjoyable and the programme was so intelligently put together that we never once felt pressured, nor did the lenght of the classes ever cause us to feel bored.
The Goethe Institut also organised a wide variety of other programmes which enabled us to learn more about the city and to experience German culture first hand, ranging from visits to museums, art exhibitions and concerts to weekend trips to neighbouring countries and skiing expeditions. Every activity we engaged in helped us bond with other students, interact with the locals and understand Munich's cultural scene. Every little experience helped us soak in our surroundings and the language so that they would become a part of us.
Apart from helping me improve my vocabulary and gain confidence in dealing with the language, the experience taught me to shed my inhibitions. Also, the close contact with people with different priorities, interests and goals exposed each one of us to new ideas and perspectives. The initial bewilderment at being surrounded by sights and sounds foreign soon melted away into a comfortable acceptance and enjoyment of what gradually started becoming more and more like home.
The constant encouragement I received from my patient, supportive teacher, the lovely people I was fortunate enough to get to know, and my experience of the German way of life made my little tryst with quaint Bavaria truly unforgettable. The fantastic experience that it was, it left me yearning for more.

I never imagined that i could enjoy three of my favourite things simultaneously...Doing a German course at Goethe Institut , Germany, speaking with Germans in German and visit and enjoy Germany. It is no exaggeration to say that a language can open hearts. I doubt , one would enjoy the real flavours of a country without knowing its language.
Everyday when i traveled with the S bahn , which traveled through the stations like zoologischer garten, tier garten und along the German Parliament, i remembered our A1 Tangram lessons.
The classes on the forenoons were very interesting and equally interesting and enjoyable were the Culture activities of our institute in the afternoons. The "walk your tour" programs, lectures etc were particularly very interesting and these programs were a gift to the participants. The list goes on and on ....
As a Student with Scholarship, one gets a lot of things, but is expected to give only one....his efforts. For that too he is rewarded with numerous advantages for a life time..I request you to exploit the learning atmopsphere and facilities at our institut and win a scholarship.
In today's world of financial crisis , job cuts are the talk of the town. But on the contrary our institute's notice board on the first floor speaks of a treasure of job openings . So give your best efforts. It really pays.
On the whole my german trip was a unique und unforgettable lifetime experience. I thank goethe Institut for the oppurtunity.
