During the first Studentenfest of 2010, students of the Goethe-Institut/ Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata showcased their skills in a series of well-performed songs, theatre plays and dances. The event also gave a glimpse of the efforts which students have put in their rehearsals during the previous weeks - with success as o...ne could see on 25 February 2010. It's over! The Green Party and the Pirates are sharing the post of MMB Chancellor after a tossup race. The Violets, although having received most of the votes for their direct candidate, will form the opposition. The Christian Democrates have participated well. An afternoon to remember - Thank you all for the innovative and creative campaigns!

True to the tradition of MMB Kolkata, a grand student’s fest was organised this year, too. This year’s fest stood out by the sheer variety of the performances. Plays were performed in German, English and Hindi, along with Indian classical dance. Then came a modern ballet number – accompanied by the music of Mandy Moore. After that came a fashion show with Indian traditional wear as its theme. A live band performed American rock, followed by a karaoke performance of Rammstein’s hit “Sonne”. Interesting also was the performance of the German song “Loreley”, accompanied by an Indian classical dance number.
At the end of the programme the students of the PASCH youth course sang “Do Re Mi” in German. And not to forget – after the show fried chicken, French fries and coke were waiting for the enthusiastic audience in the MMB canteen!
