Terms and Conditions

1. General Requirements

Course participants must be at least 16 years of age. In the case of under-age candidates (below 18 years), one of the parents must sign the registration form.
A registration form is necessary when registering for the first course. If there are changes in the personal details such as change of address or telephone number, the students should inform the language dept. office accordingly at the earliest.

Admissions for courses will start as follows: Students enrolled in a course will get priority above other candidates for admission in the next course. Thereafter the remaining admissions will be open to all ex- students and other applicants as per waiting lists. Please contact us via email so that we can enter your details in the waiting list. You will receive a mail from us informing you about your waiting list number. Thus, from the beginning of each session admissions for the next course will start. The exact date of commencement of waiting list is put up on the webpage in advance. Also, with the commencement of each course admissions for A1 will be open.

2. Terms of Payment

2.1. Course fees are payable only by demand draft addressed to Max Mueller Bhavan Pune payable in Pune. Registration is confirmed only upon payment of the full course fees.
2.2. Registrations via email without payment are accepted only from participants living outside India. Course fees must be paid in full in Indian rupees at the start of the course or immediately on arrival in Pune.
3.1. The charges valid in the current course prospectus of the Goethe-Institut are part of the contract. The same also are displayed on the webpage.
3.2. Should the participant want to change the date of the course or change to another course, no charge will be levied for the first change. Once the course fees have been paid, it is possible to change to another course that is held during the same calendar year. 4.1 The following conditions apply if the course participant is unable to take part in the course: In case of cancellation 2 weeks prior to the start of the course, the GI will withhold only 10% of the course fee. In case of cancellation up to 3 working days prior to the start of the course, the GI will withhold 50% of the course fee.
In case of cancellation or withdrawal after the course starts, no refunds or credit notes for future courses can be issued, regardless of whether or not the student has already attended the course.
4.2 Cancellations must be submitted in writing. The date of cancellation shall be the date of receipt at the GI. 5.1. Placement in course levels is based on the placement test conducted at the Goethe-Institut.
5.2. Our courses have at least 12 and at most 25 participants. If enrolments are insufficient on the starting date, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone the course. In this case we will offer participants the opportunity to shift to another course or to receive a full refund of the course fee. We regret that we can only conduct courses that have the minimum number of participants by the end of the enrolment period. To avoid cancellations of courses that would have taken place if participants had enrolled on time, we advise students in their own interest to register before the deadline. Participants are obliged to comply with the course rules and house rules applicable to the Goethe-Institut. The liability of GI and its staff is limited to intent and gross negligence. GI also accepts no liability for the cancellation of its services due to force majeur (e.g. natural disasters, fire, floods, war, official orders and all other circumstances beyond the control of the contractual parties).
