Euro-Mediterranean Academy for Young Journalists

The academy’s participants

In May 2008, the Goethe-Institut Jordan invited 18 young journalists to the first Euro-Mediterranean Academy for Young Journalists (EMAJ) in Amman.

In different workshops, expert hearings, active discussions and practical working experiences the participants, coming from Mediterranean (MEDA) and EU member states, gained awareness for the relation between journalistic work and cultural as well as political frameworks and responsibility in dealing with sensitive issues in the media.
Their articles published here in result discuss various topics – from water shortage in Jordan to football and immigrant workers.

The Euro-Mediterranean Academy for Young Journalists (EMAJ) is a follow-up project of the Euro-Mediterranean Youth Parliament (EMYP) in 2007. In 2009 EMAJ is supposed to take place again.
