The Goethe-Institut offers In-Service Seminar Scholarships for active Malaysian Teachers and Lecturers of German who teach German in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Institutions in Malaysia.

These In-Service Seminars can be offered in Malaysia but also in Germany.

The two to three week long In-Service Seminars in Germany are culture and civilization centered and participants need a high level of German Language Competency (C1). Personal contribution to the travel expenses are expected and necessary! (see below)

Language Course Scholarships(SF)

for active Malaysian Teachers and Lecturers of German, for long-term and successful students at the Goethe-Institut Kuala Lumpur, for German Alumni as well as for Malaysian who are involved in various cultural fields (e.g. Dance, Theatre, Film, Theatre, Literature, Fine Arts, Multimedia Arts, Journalism) and have a beginners knowledge of German.

These Language Scholarships have a duration of max. four weeks in the following locations:

General Conditions for all Scholarships:

The Scholarships contain
  • Course fees,
  • Accomodation and breakfast,
  • one hot meal on course days (not on the weekends)
  • Health-, and Accident Insurance
In addition the following Malaysia-specific Conditions apply:

Applicants have to purchase and prepay the Flight Ticket themselves and they will also have to organize their train-trip from Frankfurt Airport to the Goethe-Institut

Once the scholarship holders are students in their courses they will be given a cash support of Euro 500 for their travel expenses plus a weekly pocket money allowance of Euro 75.
