International theatre and dance residencies in Germany
Many artists’ houses in Germany support international professional theatre-makers, directors, dramatists, dancers and choreographers by making accommodation, studios and – frequently – working grants available to them for a limited time.

Due to their great necessity, Helena Waldmann's pieces are amongst the most important current political works in dance. Following the International Fadjr Theatre Festival in Tehran in 2004, she was the first western choreographer to run a workshop for women from the Islamic Republic.
Tanzplan Deutschland
Contemporary dance from Germany is in demand around the world, and German choreographers tour internationally. At the same time, support for dance here at home is somewhat unreliable.
Created by the “German Federal Cultural Foundation” (Kulturstiftung des Bundes), Tanzplan Deutschland is part of a project intended to provide reliable support and funding for dance projects until 2010.
The FolkwangHochschule in Essen and its Programme of Studies in the Dramatic Arts
The anniversary year is over. In 2007 the FolkwangHochschule celebrated its 80th birthday and accordingly published “80 good reasons” to study at this Academy of the Arts and Sciences.

Since 1995 the Papiertheater has been exploring the visual, acoustic and dramatic potential of this very material. Co-starring: the scissors.
The Papiertheater is a company and thrives on the collaboration of various art forms: musicians, sculptors, puppeteers and storytellers engage in paper affairs. In November 2008, Goethe-Institut brings the Papiertheater to Karachi and to the World Performing Arts Festival in Lahore!
