A jury selects the best videos and posters. There are terrific prizes for the winners: Flip camcorders, iPods and an internship at the ZKM Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, Germany.

The prizes available are as follows ...

For 6–13-year-olds:

  • 1st prize: FlipCam
  • 2nd and 3rd prize: iPod
  • Special prize: Illustrated Amazonas book

For 14–18-year-olds:

  • 1st prize: FlipCam
  • 2nd and 3rd prize: iPod
  • Special prize: A one-week internship at the ZKM Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe. And we cover your travel expenses!

All entries will be posted on the Amazonas website!


    Jury

    Brazilian artists Gisela Motta and Leandro Lima, both born in 1976, completed their studies in fine arts in 1999 and have been working together ever since. They have been involved in a great many Brazilian and international art projects since 1998. They won the CIFO 2010 award from the Cisneiro Fontanals Art Foundation in Miami, Florida.

    Annette Geller, photo: Manu Theobald Annette Geller studied musicology and theatre studies as well as psychology at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. She stages productions with children and teenagers at theatres in Halle, Stuttgart and Munich and at the State Theatre in Kassel. She also teaches drama and literature at the Volkshochschule (adult education centre) in Munich and gives music and drama workshops for children and teenagers.

    photo: Jonathan Winter Jonathan Winter studied media and communication studies and lives in Munich, where he works as content manager for the website of the initiative “Schulen: Partner der Zukunft” (Schools: Future Partners).

    photo: Julia Klein Julia Klein is a music ethnologist. She lives in Lisbon, where she works for the local Goethe-Institut. She co-manages the CAMPUS communication efforts for Amazonas Music Theatre.

    photo: Moritz Büchner Moritz Büchner (b. 1976) studied special education at the Pädagogischen Hochschule (teachers’ college in) Freiburg, Germany, and digital media at the Hochschule Furtwangen. Since 2008 he has been working at the Institute for Visual Media’s video studio at the ZKM | Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe.
