Sujata Bhatt

Indian born poet and translator, Sujata Bhatt, grew up in her native country and in the United States. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the Commonwealth Poetry Prize and the Chomondeley Award. To date, she has published seven collections of poems with Carcanet Press. She has translated Gujarati poetry into English for the Penguin Anthology of Contemporary Indian Women's Poetry, and, as well as the work of her husband, Michael Augustin, poems by Günter Grass and Günter Kunert.
