„Man kann nicht zweimal in denselben Fluss steigen“ - Heraklit


Der Nil ist der längste Fluss der Welt. Er ist Lebensader und symbolisiert ständigen Wandel. Von seinen Quellen im Hochland Äthiopiens und dem Viktoriasee, fließt er in Khartum zusammen und setzt seine Reise durch Wüsten und Deltas fort bis er ins Mittelmeer fließt.

Gemeinsam wollen die Sudanese Photographers Group und das Goethe-Institut Sudan fotografische Narrative am Nil entdecken und seine Geschichten erzählen. Junge, professionelle Fotografen aus Ägypten, Äthipien, Südsudan und Sudan waren eingeladen sich auf einen siebentätigen Workshop zu bewerben, der vom Fotografen André Lützen in Khartoum geleitet wird. Der Workshop zielt darauf ab junge Fotografen der Region vor allem im Bereich der Entstehung fotografischer Arbeiten und Erzählungen zu professionalisieren.

Außerdem soll durch diese Geschichten ein größeres Publikumsinteresse und Bewusstsein für Fotografie geschaffen werden. Der Nil als Inspiration und Ausgangspunkt für kreative fotografische Erzählungen entlang des Nils.

The river Nile is the longest river in the world. As source of life and current of change it originates in the highlands of Ethiopia and in Lake Victoria, flows together in Khartoum, travels through deserts and deltas until it pours into the sea.

Together the Sudanese Photographers Group and the Goethe-Institut Sudan strive to explore photographic narratives along the Nile.

A seven-day workshop for young professional photographers from Egypt, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Sudan will be conducted in Khartoum from 13th till 20th of June 2013 by German photographer André Lützen aiming to professionalize the skills of photographers in the region especially in the area of narrative and storytelling, as well as generate a wider public interest in photography. Taking the Nile and its stories as a starting point and inspiration to create photographic narratives along the Nile.
