Last Beethoven Competition 2016

The Beethoven Competition was established in 2007 to create a platform for Thailand’s young string players and pianists. Through the years, the Goethe-Institut has woven an international network of individual artists and experts which is distinguished by diversity, creativity and professionalism. We would like to take this opportunity to  express our gratitude to all participants who have made the organization of this event  possible for the last 9 years. Our special thanks go to the Beethovenfest Bonn, which has given our young musicians the chance to perform to a German audience and experience German culture. Moreover we extend our sincere thanks to our sponsors Singha, Lufthansa, Pantip Suites, B. Grimm and Robinson Piano who have supported the Beethoven Competition throughout these years.

Although this is the final Beethoven Competition, the Goethe-Institut will continue to support Thailand’s young musicians. In 2017 the musical dialogue will be continued in a new format.

Ludwig van Beethoven himself said “Echte Kunst ist eigensinnig”  or, “true art is stubborn”. Nevertheless the Beethoven Competition has shown that it is  this real art  which unites us and bridges all national boundaries. Music is indeed a universal language, understood by all.

So let us all enjoy this last Beethoven Competition!
