For its fifth edition, the film festival was once again hosted by “Science Days Palestine 2017“ and organized in a long-standing cooperation with the above-mentioned valued and local partners. During the festival’s duration from 17 October to 17 November 2017, film screenings were complemented by scientific activities, games, hands-on experiments, workshops and discussions. These activities took place in various Palestinian cultural and academic centers and institutions, including the Palestine Museum of Natural History in Bethlehem, Ni’lin Teachers’ Center, Qattan Science Studio, Al Nayzak Science House, the Canadian School Theater in Nablus, in addition to 60 other locations in Jericho, Jerusalem, Qalqilya, Bethlehem, Birzeit, Hebron, Ni'lin, Thahreya, Beit Our, Jabalya, Khan younis, Nablus, Ramallah and Gaza, covering a wide range of Palestinian cities and villages. On the opening day, the festival hosted around 400 kids from Palestinian public and private schools who were actively engaged in the opening activities.

These films contributed, moreover in a fun way, to raising the awareness of scientific, technological and environmental issues among young members of the Palestinian society. The Goethe-Institut Ramallah hopes that such films can initiate discussions and research on solutions and alternatives that withstand the current environmental challenges.
